We plans healthy sustainable communities from concept to construction. We believe in the need for communities and the social needs of families and individuals, environmental sensitivity and interconnection of open space systems, livable neighborhoods and the importance of civic events. Our urban Design studio focuses on place making; the creation of special and memorable spaces for people to meet and interact. Our mission is to educate communities, to shape their vision, and then to plan, design and build a better place to live.

We understand that beautiful communities don't just happen naturally, they happen by design. We work with the land and the natural landscape, examining in detail the prospect for maximizing investment and using the latest research, reflecting consumer values, tastes and needs in order to deliver practical and value driven design. By incorporating a public involvement process before the project commences, we achieve the best alternative to total consensus among stakeholders. This saves the client time and money as well as winning friends within the community. Active Lifestyle Communities and Projects
Our planning experience combined with our urban design experience enables Michael Joachim and Associates, to create Active Lifestyle Master Planned Communities and projects. Our holistic and comprehensive planning approach translates into active successful projects that promote quality of life through parks and open spaces, environmental preservation and wildlife conservation. Our community and project designs combine outdoor recreational opportunities, greenways and blue ways to provide passive and active recreational areas as well as educational opportunities through interpretative programming.
We are a one-stop shop for public and private sector entities requiring: Tourism Master Plans, Parks and Recreation Master Plans and comprehensive plan elements for open space. Using advanced tools such as GIS, Decision Support Systems (DSS) and public participation, and analyzing multi-year operational processes, performing resource inventories, and land use analysis, we will craft a well designed and well managed project or community that matches the needs the community and the developer.
Parks / Recreation / Tourism Planning
MJA coordinates a broad range of design and management services for all levels of government. An active member of the Association Internationale du Experts Scientifiques du Tourism, we work on public participation in tourism and ecotourism is found on decisionsbydesign.com Working with the Regional and Urban planners at MJA, a strategic plan is crafted for the client that determines the Park and Recreation systems mission, workload, budget and staffing priorities over a twenty year horizon. As the individual elements are identified, a team of sub-consultants specific to the individual project elements are drawn into the team; engineers, architects and landscape architects to develop the final product. Mjaplan will enable a client to conduct a community discussion that will enable the development of a visitor centered range of facilities from neighborhood tot lots to regional parks systems
